Large-Format Machining of FR-4 Blocks

See how Atlas Fibre machines multiple FR4 blocks simultaneously on one of our large-format routers.

Running several blocks in one setup lets us process more material per cycle and keeps feature placement consistent from block to block. The bed size on this machine is massive, allowing us to fixture 8 blocks at once in this job.

FR4 is a glass-reinforced epoxy laminate (NEMA grade FR-4) that is flame-retardant and widely used for electrical insulation, fixtures, and structural components. Its glass content makes it abrasive to cut, so tooling and feeds are set specifically for the material.

Atlas Fibre manufactures thermoset composite laminates and machines these plastics into precision components. Questions about our approach or interested in learning more about our capabilities? Request a quote or connect with our team.
