Atlas Fibre Wins Inaugural ZOLLER Toolroom of the Year Award

In the world of manufacturing, the toolroom is often considered the heart and soul of a facility. It’s a hub of activity, managing the storage of vital tools like jigs, fixtures, dies, and bits, while also handling tool production, inspection, and repairs. Additionally, the toolroom plays a crucial role in the maintenance of key manufacturing equipment. Without an efficient toolroom, optimizing productivity and supporting the creation of specialized tooling for unique production needs would be an uphill battle.

At Atlas Fibre, we understand the importance of a high-performing toolroom and have made it a core part of our operations. Over the past 18 months, we’ve not only built a toolroom that meets the needs of our company, but one that stands among the best in the industry. We are proud of our progress, and today, we are thrilled to share that our hard work has been recognized on a global stage.

Atlas Fibre Wins ZOLLER Toolroom of the Year Award

At the 2024 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, Atlas Fibre was named the first-ever winner of the ZOLLER Toolroom of the Year award. ZOLLER, a leading provider of smart factory solutions focused on tool presetting, measuring, inspection, and management, launched this competition to recognize companies that excel in toolroom operations and leverage their technology for superior results.

The award ceremony took place on September 12 at the ZOLLER booth, where Atlas Fibre was praised for its exemplary use of ZOLLER technology. Our innovative approach to toolroom management has resulted in shorter setup times, greater process reliability, reduced machine tool downtime, and increased profitability. ZOLLER systems for tool presetting, balancing, heat-shrinking, and management are integrated throughout our 120,000-square-foot facility, making us a leader in precision and efficiency.

Max Egan, CEO of Atlas Fibre, expressed his excitement about the win, stating, “We are incredibly honored to be named the inaugural winner of the ZOLLER Toolroom of the Year Award. This recognition is a testament to our team’s commitment to excellence and our dedication to optimizing every aspect of our toolroom operations. ZOLLER’s cutting-edge solutions have played an instrumental role in enhancing our capabilities, and we are excited to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and precision with their technology.”

What Sets Our Toolroom Apart

The Toolroom of the Year competition evaluated companies based on various criteria, including their organization, integration of CAD, CAM, or ERP systems, tooling database transparency, and overall process optimization. The seven-judge panel, consisting of ZOLLER experts and industry leaders, recognized Atlas Fibre for its seamless integration of ZOLLER technology across all aspects of our operations.

Our toolroom is not just a functional space; it’s a data-driven powerhouse that ensures we meet the high demands of the industries we serve, including aerospace, semiconductor, electrification, and defense. With high-mix, high-volume production requirements, our toolroom has been instrumental in delivering precise, on-time results for our clients.

A Future of Continued Innovation

Winning the ZOLLER Toolroom of the Year award is a significant milestone for Atlas Fibre, but we see it as just the beginning. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to staying at the forefront of toolroom innovation. With ZOLLER’s technology and our dedicated team, we are well-positioned to meet the challenges of the future while delivering exceptional results to our customers.

This award reinforces our belief that the toolroom is not just a support function, but a vital part of our company’s success. At Atlas Fibre, we’ll continue to take our toolroom seriously—because excellence in tooling is the foundation of excellence in manufacturing.
